Allen Iverson has informed Sixers GM Billy King that he wants to be traded. Finally. One of the guys who deserve a ring but doesn’t have one will move out of the mired mediocrity in Phildelphia and try his luck with another team. Given of course that a trade does push through. Let’s face it, the Sixers aren’t going anywhere in the next 2-3 years and are going to waste what’s left of Allen Iverson’s prime (if they haven’t wasted it already). After playing with another failed sidekick experiment (Chris Webber) and a couple of overpaid role players (Sam Dalembert, Kyle Korver, Kevin Ollie), AI gets a chance to play for a contender, or at least he can turn a so-so team into one, ala Sheed-to-the-Pistons. Well, hopefully.
I have a couple of teams on my mind that sound pretty good,
Boston – Theo Ratliff/Wally Szcerbiak, Delonte West, Gerald Green/Rondo/Al Jefferson for AI and maybe Korver, Green, Carney, depending on who ends up getting traded.
I don’t buy

Arent the sixers being freakin ingrateful to AI?? I mean yah he asked for a trade coz they built a horrible team around him, but sit him out and practically suspending him is just unfair. I mean he's worked his ass off for this franchise and what do they do?
Draft kyle korver and Dalembert.
Now he just wants out and they're pissed and dont let him play at all! i mean how would you feel if they tell you to stay home until we find you a new team?
denver has a good chance of landing AI. andre miller, joe smith's expiring contract and a couple of picks should be cool. They should have agreed with the Clippers offer during the summer, livingston and maggette for AI. I bet they'd kill for that offer again, but I dont think the clips are interested anymore.
But I do hope he goes to Minnesota. AS much as I want KG to demand a trade and go to LA; wouldnt it be great for these two guys, who deserve an NBA championship the most, to be able to compete for it again? but this time together! Foye, davis, jaric and someone. DO IT NOW!
Well I think it's just a coaching move. Why play a guy who doesn't want to play for you? I actually don't mind them drafting Dalembert and Korver. My problem is signing them to ridiculous contracts after their rookie contract expires.
Hopefully he goes to a team he can transform to a championship contender. The wolves certainly fit the bill.
